October 2007- A Marketing Tool with Voice: Let a Banner Do the Talking
When you need to be seen and heard above the crowd in a public place, nothing speaks up and gets noticed like a well-designed, well-placed banner. Whether you¹re trying to command attention at a trade show, attract customers to a sale or promote a public event, banners draw the eye and generate interest.
Consider your audience, purpose and the venue for your banner to plan for effective signage that will have the right impact. Then you can make decisions about the size, material, design and display method. Think about these factors:
- Will it be displayed indoors, or outdoors where it¹s exposed to the elements?
- What type of setting will it be seen in? How large is the venue and how crowded will it be?
- Who is your target audience and what is your message?
- What are the restrictions for size, how the banner must be hung and the allowed expense budget?
IGI Publishing offers as standard stocks: scrim vinyl, photo gloss paper, matte paper and 11 mil canvas fabric. Some specialty stocks can be ordered to fit your project. Options like cling adhesive-backed vinyl and 7 mil satin cloth can give you design flexibility. For a truly unique look that stands out from a distance, try a back-lit banner made from translucent stock. Banners can be printed in black and white or full-color.
We provide a full range of finishing services to complete the process, depending on your design and banner size, including hemming, mounting on foam core or Gatorboard® and inserting rod pockets. Know how your banner will need to hang so you can choose from rods, attached Velcro or magnetic hangers, or grommets in white, nickel and brass. Custom pieces can be hand-trimmed for point-of-purchase displays.
If your banner design must be displayed on a stand, IGI also offers stands in both floor and table-top models. Portable and easy to assemble, each adjustable stand comes in a convenient carrying case for travel. Some have the capability to display banners on two sides for greater visibility.
